There’s a new CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) in town that still has shares available for the 2015 growing season! (If you still don’t know what a CSA is, please see my original post when I purchased my first shares in 2011 or you can go to the Northeast Organic Farming Association of CT website which is an excellent resource for information about local sustainable food, gardening and land care in Connecticut. )
Cloverleigh Farm is located at the Twin Ponds Farm at 483 Browns Road. The farm is operated by Susan Mitchell, a founding member of the New Connecticut Farmer Alliance, a CT NOFA member and she also sits on the New London County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Susan got her start farming in New York’s Hudson Valley and moved to Connecticut in 2010. She started Cloverleigh Farm in Colchester in 2014 and moved her farm to the fertile ground at Twin Pond Farms in Mansfield. Please help support her efforts and join her CSA and reap the benefits of locally grown organic produce this season.
You can purchase an 18-week full season share for $595.00 or a half share for $325 and they even offer an 8-week fall student share for $100 (which requires a UConn or ECSU student ID).

I am a huge fan of CSA’s and I have blogged previously about Shundahai Farm in Mansfield where I have been a member for a few years. If you are a fan of locally grown produce and goods you should also consider supporting buyCTgrown.com and pledge to spend just 10% of your food and gardening dollars locally. Take the pledge!
